Missouri permit test questions people ask

How many questions are on the Missouri permit test?

Twenty-five multiple-choice questions, and you need 20 right. The written test is one of four parts given by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, along with a vision test, a road sign test and, later, the driving test.

The test is closed book and skips the commercial-vehicle chapter. The Department of Revenue says nearly half of first-time takers fail, and that every question comes straight from the Missouri Driver Guide.

How old do you have to be for a Missouri instruction permit?

Fifteen. Pass the vision, road sign and written tests at a Highway Patrol station, then take the examination record to a license office with a parent, stepparent, legal guardian or certified trainer who signs a permission statement.

The permit costs $10 and runs up to 12 months, and it can be renewed without another written test. Under 21, the permit and license are marked as belonging to a minor.

What are the rules for a Missouri instruction permit and intermediate license?

Before 16, ride only with a parent, stepparent, grandparent, legal guardian, qualified instructor, or a driver 25 or older licensed three years with written parental permission; from 16, any licensed driver 21 or older will do. Hold the permit 182 days and log 40 hours, 10 at night.

The intermediate license allows one passenger under 19 from outside the family for six months, then three, and no solo driving from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. except for school, work or emergencies. A full under-21 license can follow at 18 after a year with no alcohol offenses or traffic convictions.
