Arkansas permit test questions people ask

Who gives the Arkansas permit test, and what does it cost?

The Arkansas State Police schedule and give the written exam, with testing in every county. Each written exam costs $5, and every exam taken is added to the bill when the license is bought.

An oral version with an examiner is available at some locations for applicants with learning differences. Neither the State Police nor the study guide state the number of questions or the passing score, so OneTryPass does not give one.

What are the rules for Arkansas permit, learner and intermediate drivers?

Permit and learner drivers need a licensed driver 21 or older beside them, and everyone in the car buckles up. Phones are off limits for drivers under 18, even hands-free, except in an emergency.

Intermediate drivers may carry just one unrelated minor passenger without an adult 21 or older up front, and they are off the road from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. except for the trips the law allows.
