Arizona real estate exam questions people ask

How many questions are on the Arizona real estate salesperson exam?

You sit two exams: a general exam with 80 scored questions in 150 minutes and an Arizona state exam with 60 scored questions in 90 minutes. Each adds 5 unscored pretest questions that look just like the real ones.

The state exam is built around Arizona practice: 8 questions on contracts; 6 apiece on Arizona agency, licensee duties and obligations, licensee competencies, and reasonable skill and care; and the rest on the regulatory framework, consumer protection laws, advertising, escrow and title, ownership, and foreclosure.

Already hold an equivalent license in another state? Arizona law exempts you from the national portion, but you still have to pass the exam on Arizona law.

What score do you need to pass the Arizona real estate exam?

You need 75% correct. Pearson VUE reports a percent score from 0% to 100%, and the Arizona Department of Real Estate set the passing mark with Pearson after a study of each exam.

Your score report also lists your percentage in each content area. The areas have different numbers of questions, so averaging them won’t give your overall score; treat them as a study guide.

How many hours of classes do you need for an Arizona real estate license?

At least 90 classroom hours, or the equivalent, at a school certified by the commissioner, live or by distance learning, followed by a proctored course exam taken in person. The course must be no more than ten years old when you apply for the license.

One more course is required before the salesperson license is issued: the six-hour Arizona Contract Writing Course.

What do you do after passing the Arizona real estate exam?

Apply within one year of the exam date, or you will have to pass it again. Along with the application, the Arizona Department of Real Estate needs your Fingerprint Clearance Card, proof of legal presence and the application fee.

Licenses run for two years and are renewed by the last day of the month in which they were issued. Each renewal needs 24 credit hours of approved continuing education for a salesperson.

Can an Arizona real estate agent fill out the purchase contract?
